2-ethylhexyl-p-methoxycinnamate is a cinnamate chemical UVB absorber found in many personal care products including sunscreens, insect repellants, hair care, and cosmetic products. Chemical sunscreen agents diminish the penetration of ultraviolet (UV) light through the epidermis by absorbing UV radiation within a specific wavelength range.
